Having an upstate getaway is wonderful - the steps getting there should be too.

The GOal

Purchasing a weekend home is a large and potentially intimidating endeavor. But discovering the Catskills and finding your family's idyllic city counterpart is exciting and fun. We will determine what your specific needs are and find the best fit for your family.

The bottom line? You benefit from my mistakes - therefore my expertise! Having bought/sold/bought/renovated upstate we've overcome our fair share of hurdles (who do you call when your washing machine explodes on your first night in the house? Chimneys need to be cleaned? And, what exactly is a leech field?) But, we've also spotted a mama black bear and her cub on my birthday (twice), regularly picnic at a waterfall behind our property, can now identify several bird songs and our 4 year old refers to our home as "the tree house."

what we will accomplish

  • Envision how your and your family will spend time upstate

  • Tackle logistics - from physically seeing homes and focusing your search

  • Be well informed about 'upstate-specific' real estate terminology

  • Outline a budget you are comfortable with and set expectations

  • Answer all of your 'country/mountain living' and 'second home' questions

  • Create a 'wish list' for your future home and property

  • Get excited about the possibilities!
